At Star Wars Celebration in London, Lucasfilm announced that popular Stars Wars Expanded Universe character Grand Admiral Thrawn would be introduced in the modern Star Wars canon – with featured appearances in the upcoming season of Star Wars Rebels, as well as a new novel by creator Timothy Zahn in 2017.
