A lot of people tell me they haven’t attended San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) because it is nearly impossible to get tickets. I always tell them there is much more to do outside of the convention center than inside. Most of the outside exhibits and events do not require an SDCC badge. You can fill your entire week without stepping one foot inside the convention center.
One of those cool exhibits at SDCC 2017 was for Star Trek Discovery. They had a nice little walking display of props used for the new Star Trek series. Since I am a Trekkie I stood in line to check it out. Here is a little video of that walk through.
Star Trek: Discovery is is the first series developed specifically for CBS on demand. It is the first Star Trek series since Star Trek: Enterprise concluded in 2005. Discovery is set roughly a decade before the events of the original Star Trek series. It will be separate from the timeline of the concurrent feature films.
Discovery explores the Federation-Klingon cold war while following the crew of the USS Discovery. Star Trek: Discovery is set to debut on CBS on September 24, 2017. There will be a two-part premiere. Those episodes will then be made available on All Access, followed by the rest of the 15-episode first season over subsequent weeks. The season is split into two chapters with the first chapter finishing in November 2017, and the second chapter beginning in January 2018.
