Image Comics is publishing a new comic book titled The Hunt. This comic is based on Irish myths and promises to be a wee bit on the scary side. Colin Lorimer has said the idea for The Hunt had been percolating for quite some time now. It was originally based on his terrifying childhood experiences of dealing with night terrors and sleep paralysis. It was always to be set in Ireland, but researching and reading into old Irish folklore tales gave it that extra something that it needed and it was full-steam ahead from that moment on.
Orla Roche is a teenager who has become somewhat of an outcast due to her past history. She believes in fairies, the dangerous kind. For a long time she couldn’t tell fantasy from reality. Now she knows the difference. The Hunt is coming and its nightmare world of the restless dead will come crashing into hers. The Hunt is an intense story of survival. It is a supernatural horror tale that will give Irish mythology a distinctly modern twist.
The Hunt is currently planned as a five issue mini-series. Hopefully if it sells well it can continue into an ongoing.

Solicitation: Dream or reality? For a long time, teenager Orla Roche couldn’t tell them apart, and now The Hunt is coming with its nightmare world of the restless dead. An intense story of survival, The Hunt is a supernatural horror tale that will give Irish mythology a distinctly modern twist.
Appeal: “I grew up in Northern Ireland and religion played a huge part in my upbringing,” Lorimer told Newsarama. “I was told of angels and devils, heaven and hell, and being someone who suffered from night terrors as a child, and later, sleep paralysis, it all made for a rather heady cocktail. I prayed for my soul on many a night in fear that a devil would steal me away, so I guess it’s not a huge surprise that I’m now writing a book about creatures that steal souls. I’ve just swapped over my biblical demons for Faeries ones. Fair trade I think.”
